LG Thrill 4G, Motorola Bionic Re-Affirmed for Summer Release

Kamis, 23 Juni 2011

We see so many smartphones pass by, whether from early leaks, FCC filings, or finally formal announcements from manufacturers and carriers, it can be hard to keep track of what phones are expected to arrive, when. Motorola and AT&T wanted to remind you that some of their models are still in the works, updating us as to when to expect them.

Verizon and Motorola pulled the plug on the Droid Bionic months ago, sending it back to the shop to be re-tooled for a later release. Last we heard from Motorola, it wanted to get the Bionic back out sometime this summer, but there haven't been any updates since April, so we were getting a little antsy to hear about its progress. We got a sneak peak at some of the new Bionic hardware earlier this month, and now Motorola has tweeted that it's still finalizing the smartphone's updates and that a summer release is still in the cards.

LG's bringing its Optimus 3D
to the States with AT&T as the Thrill 4G. When the smartphone was announced at the end of March, we were told it would arrive "in the coming months". Three months later, we're no closer to having a precise release date, but AT&T has just issued a press release affirming that the Thrill 4G will be up for sale before the end of summer. We can't help but think that its timing for this statement may be related to the HTC
EVO 3D's release this Friday. Regardless, it looks like you'll soon have your pick of 3D smartphones.
